Ruben Lopez is one of our talented team of professional photographers based at Dreams Playa Mujeres, Mexico.

Where are you from?
I was born in Morelia Michoacán, and I have lived in Cancún Quintana Roo since 2000
How did you get started as a photographer?
My approach to professional photography began in Santander Spain, as a photography assistant.
I consider this work as an income to be able to cope with my life with a little more comfort, however it was a key point to fall in love with this art.
How long have you been a photographer for?
I have been in the professional field for almost 10 years
What is the most rewarding part of being a photographer?
The most gratifying part is knowing that with this art you can get to know the world, its people, cultures, languages, characters, ways of living. Photography is such a powerful tool that can lead us to do what we dream and imagine.
What does photography mean to you?
The meaning of the Photography can be changing depending on what is happening in your life at that moment. I am currently in a very happy stage of my life, and at this moment photography means to me, having a dance with the light.
What is your favorite style of photography?
Mine of course! With this I do not want to say that I am the best, but that I love what I do and how I do it.
Where is your favorite location to photograph?
Without thinking, my study! It is a magical place where I can lose track of time and play with the light and the atmosphere.
What is your preferred piece of equipment?
My imagination, my eyes and the light.
What is your favorite part about working with Adventure Photos?
Meeting people from all over the world is the best part and what I enjoy the most!
What was the most memorable photo session or wedding you have captured?
This question is quite interesting.Thanks to Adventure Photos I have been fortunate to capture hundreds of weddings and sessions, and they all had something beautiful. I remember a wedding in 2018, it was a small and discreet wedding, they were part of the LGBT community, such a warm aura was felt in the atmosphere, they flooded the area with love and sincerity, all the guests were attentive to witness the promise of love, it was truly an unforgettable moment and Honestly, I had never seen so much respect and love between two human beings.
What is your favorite photograph and why?
Portrait photography is my favorite type of photo, the approach you have with the other person, the connection, trying to capture the scenic Who you portray, the fixed eyes, and how the simple movement of an eyebrow can change the entire message of the image.
How did you begin working with Adventure Photos? What hotel are you currently working at?
A friend recommended me to enter and it was a great success. I am currently at Dreams Playa Mujeres.
If you could give advice to client’s prior to their photo session, what would it be?
Do not use sunscreen in the photo session, the sand will stick to it a lot!
How do you make clients less nervous during a shoot?
I know that sometimes clients can be a bit shy, however my style of photography tends to be quite candid, trying to get scenic and action. Of course there is always a direction but without invading and always trying to generate feelings.
